Hertfordshire and West Essex Training Hub

Who we are

The Hertfordshire and West Essex (HWE) Training Hub is commissioned by Health Education England (HEE) and has the aim to “ensure the primary care workforce of today and tomorrow are trained in the right numbers, have the necessary skills, NHS values and behaviours at the right time and in the right place as described”. Training hubs are designed to meet the educational needs of the multi-disciplinary primary care team, and bring together NHS organisations, community providers and local authorities.

Our goal is to support and develop the primary care workforce within HWE. Whether you are new to practice, in the middle of your career or starting to think about retirement we want to be able to help you.

Our Team

Our team is made up of the Head of Workforce as well as Clinical Leads for GP, Nursing and Pharmacists. The team is then divided into two operational programmes: Training and Education and Recruitment and Retention. Each team has a project manager, two project support officers and an administrator. Together we design, implement and assess the impact of our training and development and collaborate with the wider Primary Care teams.
